This sedoka was written for this week’s Monday Mural prompt at Poefusion. Enjoy.

inert silent earth
lies beneath statued trees and
silver mirrors of water

tears become rivers
pale moonlight illuminates
her polluted, filthy weeping

Nice job, Raven~ Mother nature isn’t always so beautiful, is she? Have a nice day.

This is sad and chilling… and an excellent response to the prompt.

The first stanza is wonderfully static like the statue. The turn of the next stanza is surprising. Nice write.

    Thank you, everyone.

Whether we believe in the concept of Mother Earth or not, I think that what we do this planet is worth pausing a moment and considering what would happen if we destroy it with our neglect and carelessness…after all, right now, it is the only place we have to live.
