This senryu was written for the “faces” prompt at One Single Impression. Enjoy.

..the truth..many thanks..
Oh, so true. Well done.
This is great. I do like the Heterochromia, too.
Clever photograph and good philosophy in the poem.
Thank you for sharing.
So true and disturbing how we all strive to erase the passage of time in one way or another.
So very true!
weed it out
So very true. And that is very frightening!
The mask is so appropriate to illustrate your words. To find the real depth you must look within tho some try to hide.
The needle lies by omission.
The stories cannot be denied.
Surely a truth. The words and photo are a great combo! Thanks!
You are right, no one is fooled! Perfect photo and poem.
Yikes! Botox. Give me wrinkle and age and wisdom anyday.
Thanks,
Karen
hi nicole.. the reality of our realness is actually frightening… have i yet to succumb to the taste of youthful beauty in my aging years… N-O-T… but i do enjoy watching my dear friends faces change… i think laverne and shirly would have a great skit… though will and grace are hysterical in the one episode that i saw… the photo and ku were too real…
Wow! That image really gives some punch. Great response to the prompt.
Time does march on and it shows in our faces! Great response to the prompt and oh so true.
Thank you, everyone.
I have been thinking about aging since I turned thirty, and I’m starting to see those lines creep into my face….I think it’s sad how age is so devalued in Western cultures. I’m frightened of needles to begin with (you wouldn’t think I would, having had blood drawn so much because of being ill as a child), and I can’t conceive of letting one anywhere near my face.
And time…really does march on.
As always, I am honored by all of your compliments on my work.
Thank you,
Nicole
Sometimes it’s difficult to accept one’s flaws (including those brought on by aging) gracefully.
I enjoyed your poem and the weird photo.
Hi Joyce…
Thank you. Oddly enough, I found the photo on Deviant Art when I did a keyword search for “botox”. I liked how vivid and weird it was, and though it would fit with the senryu.
Thanks for visiting.
