At The Beach
This hay(na)ku chain was written for Read Write Poem Prompt #38: Scratch-And-Sniff Poetry, Anyone?. Here is my take on the prompt. Enjoy.

my
nose could
tell today’s story
it
says that
the gentle breeze
carried the lake’s
cold clean
wetness
and
cast it
beside heavy humid
hot musk and
the air
swelled
the
scents met
and then fucked
mingling madly in
mid-air
collision
their
love child
met up with
the acrid, tangy
smoke of
barbeque
she
wrapped her
arms around him
hip to hip
they danced
gyrating
cavorting
past heavy
sweet cocoa butter
and mild, musty
wet sand
stink
they
collided with
the chilled fruity
tartness of Popsicles
and lemon
ice
and
collapsed beside
the bleeding crispness
of hot fresh
French fry
funk
my
nose didn’t
miss a thing
it told a
much better
story
written sheerly in
hot olfactory

Vivid!
Some erotic smells there
That last stanza is too good!
yellowed piece of paper
Eros is the first thing I think of in terms of the topic of smell. This is so intense, of course the shore is a perfect setting for this prompt. A pleasure to read.
excellent
Wow… very erotic! Great concept–and vivid imagery.
I love the way you combine all of the erotic smells of summer in short lines.
The short lines make it a quick read, which shows how the nose can smell so many things at once!
Thank you, everyone. This reminds me, we, um, need to go to the beach this summer….*grin*

Really evocative – I was there!
Amazing how many erotic poems there are this week…this is one of the best. The form suits the subject so well.
I have not forgotten everyone, I have been reading your comments, I have just been really busy….thank you for dropping by and leaving your thoughts.
