  1. Barb's Haiku says:

I have been invisible to the object of my affection while dancing through hoops just to be noticed. Loved this!

  2. zoya gautam says:

..surprisingly even without the gender profile it sounds just as good..many thanks..

  3. Pam says:

This is a wonderful senryu post. To put all that energy into silver coating and being attractive and then not to be admired. . . lots to think about with this poem.

  4. Tumblewords says:

I know that folly – nice writing!

  5. SandyCarlson says:

    Definitely been there!

  6. Raven says:

Ah, such a familiar story – what a brilliant analogy for the process.

  7. Lisa at Greenbow says:

    A familiar sad story.

  8. Noah says:

    Hmm, this is good.

  9. Gemma says:

I have this instant image of a symbolic punch flying through the air at the end of the poem ~ in the form of maybe a closed fist! Great write!

  10. Thanks everyone…this was written from a place where I was during my first marriage…almost fifteen years ago. Not a fun place to be in. There are still sometimes that I wonder what was really me and what is leftover from me trying to be like him so that he’d stay. How foolish I was…
