My Future Works and Efforts

The readers of my blog who have come to know this place over the last few months have seen this place grow, expand, and change faces a few times. Thank you for your readership and your support. It has not gone unnoticed, and I am delighted by your visits and comments.

Don’t worry. This is not a “this blog is going away” announcement. :)

Many of you are familiar with my blog through the many writing prompts that I have been posting work for over the last two to three months. However, I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, especially after I read this post on Paisley’s blog. While I still intend to publish my poetry and other works of art here, I recognized after reading her post that inside, a gnawing feeling, almost a voice has been calling me to break out of what I was doing at the moment and follow this calling, wherever it led me artistically. I also need time to work on the performance of my poetry, especially since I have now started to slam. I also wish to produce more material to submit for publication to other markets, both online and print. Also, my life has gotten busier, as well as my day job. It is with this in mind that I have decided to reduce the number of writer’s prompts that I will be writing for.

I will still write material for three writer’s prompt sites: Read Write Poem, Poefusion’s “Monday Mural”, and One Single Impression. I will participate in others as time permits, but those three I will keep writing for.

The rest of the time, I will be living life and following my Muse to wherever he calls me, whether to the heights of Heaven or the depraved depths of Hell. Expect to see more of the material generated from those journeys on Raven’s Wing Poetry.

I hope my readers will follow me on these new and exciting journeys.

i applaud your decision and agree whole heatedly that you have to go where your heart leads you… personally i have found a sense of freedom in writing for myself that i had lost when struggling to maintain an entry for each and every prompt…

good luck in all of your endeavors,, and i would love to see you performing a slam if you ever get one on video!!!!!

  2. Hi Paisley:

Thanks for dropping by, and thank you for the encouragement.

I have been working editing on a bunch of video that my fiance has shot of our poetry group’s slams and special events…so you will see some of that very soon.

Nicole, three prompts would be too much for me. You’re still doing plenty.

i look forward to seeing the new direction you take your blog and i agree with nathan, you’ll still be doing more prompts than most bloggers i visit.
