Marionette

This chained lune was written for Poefusion’s “Monday Mural” prompt. Another foray into the darkness. This might be a bit disturbing, but I hope you enjoy anyway.

I am your
fucking puppet, my muscles taut
pulled by wire

then dropped from
above the veil of oblivion
Heaven mocks me

Hell watches me
sinews threaten to thread through
the tiny holes

torn by hooks
buried inside my aching flesh
I dangle, helpless

soon I will
dance your sick marionette ballet
as I bleed

my final steps
fading into silent stillness, then
a hanging corpse

how many of us have not felt like someones plaything at some point… the key is not to wait until you feel like a hanging corpse before you move on….

  2. Very strong response to the prompt this week, Raven. I think Paisley has hit it dead on. We have to make sure we take pride in ourselves and walk away from being someone’s puppet before it takes hold of us, before it allows us to be consumed to death. Well done. Have a nice day.

  3. Pam says:

This is very strong and speaks volumes for the controls that society and others impose upon the individual. Cut those strings and dance with your own movements!

  4. Very powerful even though it’s dark. It speaks out to me!

making inroads into I know what not

  5. Thank you, everyone. Lately, I’ve been venturing more into the darkness, and this was the first thing that came to my mind. I’m just going with it and seeing where it takes me….
