This skeltonic was written for the Tuesday Title prompt at Poefusion. This week’s title was “Women in the Silence”. Enjoy.

———————————
Women in the silence
engender violence
through the sonic, verbal vacuum
which resounds in the room
while injured wait.
Time hesitates –
seconds squeeze through
invisible intravenous tubes
injecting a slow day into
bruised emotional veins
which scream of the pain
of waiting here.
These women, they stare
into empty chairs
where their loved ones sat
before that
triage nurse called their names –
or they play peek-a-boo
with glances strained,
going insane
over why their loved ones’ names
ain’t been called yet.
I regret
to inform you all
that y’all
will waste
this day posthaste
by your tightrope wire stares
into nowhere
and your silent,
yet ever violent
mental itching
and unsaid bitching.

Boy, you have captured the wait in an emergency room well. When you’re feeling bad that’s the last thing you want to do is wait. Nice job. Have a nice day.
Wow, what a powerful poem. Time injected into IV lines. The medical imagery merging with the violence is amazing.
Isn’t that really it…whatever happened to get er done mode??
another good piece of work–cuts to it
