Judah’s Gift

This triptych poem, based on the biblical story of Judah and Tamar, was written for One Single Impression prompt # 35: Gift. Enjoy.

—————————–

my signet and staff my pledge to you for a single torrid moment
from my hands from my lips between your legs
I settle my gift into your darkness
in your arms I find I will go
insane hot kaleidescope madness into halcyon light
blue gossamer robes wicked, thick perfume enchanted
veiled golden breasts above thin, ocean blue veils onyx mirror eyes
my hands dance I rise I explode
in brown flesh valleys to meet your passion
in sweat oceans your sine crest wave it has consumed me
I drown I drown I drown
my gift my exquisite death my spent soul
is yours is yours is yours

  1. Your triptych poetry blows me away, and this one is very steamy! ::sigh::

  2. Very impressive, full of lush imagery and a compelling rhythm.

  3. Whew! Lush, beautiful, passionate… steamy, as someone said. Just gorgeous. I like that it reads beautifully up and down in rows and across as well. I actually kind of like reading the three as one with the repetitions…

  4. What passionate love–and how beautifully complete. I enjoy your triptychs and study them for form and the delivery of meaning. Each one has a different nuance. Wonderfully done.

  5. wow!!! now that was quite an undertaking… i just saw something somewhere about this form,, and to say the least i was intimidated… you pulled it off without a flaw… well done!!!!

  6. flawless visual delight nicole… was just reading this very chapter…. amazing how the spirit moves… that judah would be humbled by a woman seeking justice and truth…amen!!
