Raven’s Wing Press Page Updated!

As part of my effort to redesign this blog, I have changed the Raven’s Wing Press page to a new layout. The page should be easier to navigate, and now includes sub-pages for each book I’ve published. Sample poems from each book are now in HTML format.

I have designed them with a new WordPress theme in mind, so they won’t quite look the same when I complete renovations. My target date to complete the redesign is March 1, 2010.

Please take a few moments to look at the new pages, and let me know what you think via comments on this post or backchannel (ravenswingpoetry AT gmail DOT com). Your input is much appreciated.

Enjoy.

I watch alien armies of metal men raise

wings spread. They hold a yellow streetlight in each palm like a
pair of strange pale eyes above the freeway. Ahead of them, Continue reading

Writing Wrongs Logo

Dan Vaughn, T Miller, and Eboni Hogan will feature at Writing Wrongs Poetry Slam in February!

Dan Vaughn will feature first on February 16. According to WW, Vaughn “has been a staple in the Milwaukee Poetry Slam scene since its conception, representing Milwaukee 8 times at the National Poetry Slam. Don’t miss the opportunity to see this Midwest Force in person.”

T Miller and Eboni Hogan will both feature at WW on February 23. Some info about these ladies from WW follows below:

T Miller is a Detroit native that is a two time WOWPS Finalist and multiple Detroit National Team Representative. Eboni Hogan is an Urbana Poetry slam Grand Champion and two time Nuyorican Poetry Slam team member, including the 2009 National Poetry Slam Finalist team. You don’t want to miss these two Femme Fatales do their thing at Writing Wrongs.”

WW also notes that “there will be an Open Mic and Slam that night too, so get there early to sign up. With such a packed schedule, WE WILL START ON TIME!” So no Poet Standard Time, folks.

All shows start @ 8:00 P.M. and are held at Urban Spirit Coffee Shop, 893 E. Long Street, Columbus, OH (View Map). Cover for each event is $5.00.

Oh yeah — and don’t forget about the next slam for NPS contention @ WW, scheduled for February 9.
