Solstice Magic

This was written for We Write Poems #190: Holiday Found Poetry in which Yousei Hime asked us to create a found poem, using a text that we liked when we were creating our poems for last week’s cento prompt. I went left of center for this, using Wordle to create a wordle of my RSS feed from which I extracted the words…some of which appeared in last week’s poem.

Wordle: Raven's Wing Poetry

Here’s the text, if you were unable to watch the video:

crystal veins suspended,
hair inside a tree:
stars’ fire escapes
candle souls listening

capture gold water
and a singing moon
in a stardust cradle sky

-Nicole

Wow, I can see a spectacular tree in this. Love the process you used too. Wish I’d thought of it. Bravo.

  2. Irene says:

So cool. Wish I knew how to do that.
    Yea, candle souls listening!

  3. stimmyabby says:

Great video. :) I especially like the warning at the beginning, and the words “stardust cradle sky”.

Liked the video, a fun way to present a poem. “candle souls listening” is stuck in my brain.

I will have to check this further when I get home. I was never a big music collector. But I did enjoy The Doors when I was growing up. I think either on vinyl record or possibly even 8-track tape…Yep I’m old. Some days I feel it too.

Thanks again for your faithful visits, your kind words and support.
Best to you and yours and may your New Year be filled with magic, success and health.
    ~Jules

That’s a great video plus soundtrack, Nicole! If you haven’t come across it yet, my pal Dave Bonta’s poetry video site might be of interest – http://movingpoems.com/about/
