Tabloids

Misery
Loves company -
And companies
Love misery,
Especially those whose brightly colored
Rags beckon from the check-out counter.

With a look of disdain
As they profit from stardom’s pain.

Birth

Empty echoes
As sound bounces off of space -
I watch a slow, serene birth
As pipes and wood meet
And mesh
To form one plural voice of many -
E pluribus unum;

Mechanics breathe a wind of life
Inside
Square wooden lungs

And a pipe organ is born.

The Beast

Chimera.
The beast stalks me,
Sinking its sharp teeth
First into my joints,
Then setting its evil eyes
On my liver and heart. Continue reading ‘The Beast’
