your fingers caress the skin of a lover
just as easily as they caress

Empty echoes
As sound bounces off of space -
I watch a slow, serene birth
As pipes and wood meet
And mesh
To form one plural voice of many -
E pluribus unum;
Mechanics breathe a wind of life
Inside
Square wooden lungs
And a pipe organ is born.
